ANDREW W.K. To Perform One Million Volt Keyboard Solo Through David Blaine's Body

W.K. had the following to say about partaking in Blaine’s latest adventure:
“A 1,000,000 volt keyboard??? This is absolutely a once in a lifetime musical experience and probably the most dangerous musical instrument ever created! I'm absolutely electrified and terrified by the opportunity to play a keyboard solo with so much energy, and to use this incredibly powerful device to send a musical surge through David's brain! I just hope he can withstand my high-powered party piano playing!”
Andrew’s electric keyboard solo will take place this Sunday, October 7th, at West Street/11th Avenue and 13th Street in downtown Manhattan at 7:30pm. Audiences around the world will also be able to control the Tesla coils through Ultrabook stations in cities worldwide, while the entire event will be continuously live-streamed at www.youtube.com/electrified.
Meanwhile, it was also announced today that Andrew W.K. will be hosting The Syndicate’s Conflict Of Interest event this year, presented by Taco Bell. Taking place on October 15th at Rebel NYC (251 West 30th Street, New York), the event will be benefiting Yum! Brands’ World Hunger Relief, with Taco Bell donating money to the fight against world hunger. W.K. will emcee the event in-between musical performances by Savoir Adore, Team Spirit, Pacific Air and The Hounds Below. Andrew will also perform a special DJ set. Doors open at 7pm, and entry (18+) is FREE with RSVP (subject to venue capacity) at www.conflictparty.com.
You can also catch Andrew and his lovely Cherie Lily at PAPER Magazine's Annual Nightlife Awards on October 10th, 2012, where the couple will present an award as part of the night’s festivities. Andrew has become a regular at the prestigious cultural ceremony, having presented past awards alongside hotel mogul Andre Balazs among others. In the recent past, PAPER has also decorated Santos Party House, the club Andrew W.K. co-founded and operates with his friends in Manhattan, with awards for “Best New Nightclub” and the People’s Choice Award for “Best Club” overall.
