Official statements from band and family of Peter Steele 'later today'

The official Type O Negative website has just posted the following statement:
"The forums have been re-opened. Please play nice and expect statements from the band and family later today.

Thank you for your understanding and support."

The forums were closed last night until it could be officially confirmed of Peter Steele's passing.

The Gauntlet first reported of Steele's death around 8pm PST last night as news began to trickle down through the twitterverse.
