Firm Music’s newest stars - FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH - have created quite a stir as they prepare for the release of their debut album, THE WAY OF THE FIST. The CD hits stores nationwide TODAY as the band continues its successful trek headlining the RedOctane “Guitar Hero” second stage of this summer’s FAMILY VALUES TOUR.
Fans are also raving about the new material and its amazing accompanying art, buying considerably more FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH merchandise on the road than that of many of the band’s second-stage counterparts! The first single off THE WAY OF THE FIST, “The Bleeding,” has burst onto the Active Rock Charts at #40 in its first week out. The video for the single, directed by Bradley Scott, can now be seen on the band’s Myspace.
Zoltan Bathory (previously of U.P.O.), was the architect of what has morphed into FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, recruiting standout studio Metal drummer, Jeremy Spencer to add his trademark ‘double-bass mayhem’ to the equation. Vocalist, Ivan Moody’s previous band, MOTOGRATER, had played to huge crowds on Ozzfest and beyond, while guitarist Darrell Roberts toured with metal legends W.A.S.P.. Matt Snell, bassist of acclaimed experimental outfits ANUBIS RISING and DEADSETT, completed the circle by lending his considerable fretboard mastery to the band’s music.
THE WAY OF THE FIST was recorded at Next Level Studios by Stevo "Shotgun" Bruno (MOTLEY CRUE, PRONG) and at No Name Studios by Mikey Sarkisyan (SPINESHANK) with mixing and mastering duties being handled by Logan Mader (MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY).
