FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY On Forming A Supergroup

Five Finger Death Punch Five Finger Death Punch: Five fingers, one closed, focused fist

Guitarist Zolthan Bathory, having gained much notoriety with U.P.O and the radio hits “Godless” and “Feel Alive,” knew that he wanted to create something special when assembling Five Finger Death Punch. Bathory insisted on solid players sharing the same musical vision and drive to succeed. The Las Vegas-based axe-man hand-picked talented musicians for the band, based on great impressions gained at live performances.

Welcome to “The Way Of The Fist.” The debut from 5FDP, which drops this July 31st, an album highlighting the individual members’ skills. Fans can look to “The Bleeding,” the first single and video from the much talked about debut as prime evidence that Five Finger Death Punch is on one massive musical mission. Seething with intensity, but balanced by melody that’s so much more than typical, “The Bleeding” is a dramatic, confident, and powerful glimpse into the future of modern heavy metal.

Bathory espouses pure joy in finding the band’s versatile and singular vocalist Ivan Moody, saying, “It’s been two years in the process we’ve worked together,” Bathory said. Of the decision that Moody was the right man for the job, Bathory states, “ I saw him performing. Every single person in this band, I saw them first. I saw him on Ozzfest. That was some years ago, I don’t really recall the name of it. (Moody interjects: "Like “Mushroomgrater.”) Bathory goes on to say, “ It was some band, and I said ‘This dude’s a madman.’ So I actually made a mental note, ‘I have to have this guy in the band. It was the same way with Darrell, who was in W.A.S.P. I was watching this guy’s performances and I remember that Roy, he used to jam with Soulfly, now he’s in Stone Sour, he was looking me and we were like, ‘Man, this dude can shred his ass off.’ It’s kind of funny, but Santa Claus, he’s really good to me.”
