The Gauntlet: Laethora Metal News

LAETHORA schedule 1st ever live show this month in Gothenburg

Laethora Sundin - will make their debut live appearance this month in Gothenburg.

Says Sundin in a posting on the band's official MySpace site, "The time is finally here for the Laethora collective to take on the stage and unleash their aural assault like pestilence upon the living. On the 29th of June, we'll play at Belsepub in Gothenburg (appearing instead of Zonaria). It'll be an intense and mayhemic show containing both songs from "March.." as well as a few surprises. Note that we're playing as the 2nd band of the night, so be sure to be there in time in order to witness this historical event."

LAETHORA’s debut album for THE END RECORDS, titled March of the Parasite, was released in February of this year.

The Swedish band -- which also features The Provenance members Joakim Rosen (guitar), Jonnie Tall (bass) and Joel Lindell (drums) – play aggressive music firmly rooted in the death/grind tradition, yet challenging and innovative. In an interview with MTV.COM about the debut, Sundin described the album as "extreme and in-your-face, but organic rather than clinical-sounding."

Along the lines of Billy Corgan's 1999 collaboration with Mike Garson on the score for the religious horror film Stigmata, the following year Korn's Jonathan Davis collaborated with composer Richard Gibbs on the score for the film adaptation of Anne Rices's novel Queen of the Damned.
