The Gauntlet: All That Remains Metal News

ALL THAT REMAINS to headline North America throughout January, February

All That Remains Massachusetts' metal heavyweights ALL THAT REMAINS will embark on a full North American headlining tour, beginning in late January. Support for the bill will come from Misery Signals, The Human Abstract and split support along the way from Cellador and labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY. The tour will be ALL THAT REMAINS' first full headlining tour in support of the band's new record, 'The Fall of Ideals,' after already landing spots on Sounds of The Underground Europe, Ozzfest 2006 earlier this year and dates across North America with DragonForce this fall. Tickets will be available Saturday, Nov. 18 from Artist Arena at https://tixx1.artistarena.com/allthatremains/.

Released earlier this year to critical and commercial success, 'The Fall of Ideals' is the third release from ALL THAT REMAINS and was again produced by Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage) and features artwork by Travis Smith (Opeth, Iced Earth) as well as engineering help from Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork).

In the meantime, seasoned drummer Tim Yeung is temporarily filling in on ALL THAT REMAINS' current set of scheduled live dates alongside Killswitch Engage and a three-week tour with DragonForce throughout the United Kingdom in November and December. Yeung has already made his presence known in the metal world having showcased his playing with Hate Eternal, Decrepit Birth, Vital Remains and Aurora Borealis among others, as well as earning the World's Fastest Drummer title at the 2006 summer NAMM show in Austin, Texas earlier this year. More information on Yeung can be found at his official website (www.timyeung.com).

Subsequently, ALL THAT REMAINS is currently seeking a full-time drummer to join the band upon returning to America in mid-December. Interested parties can contact inquire via the band's official MySpace page (www.myspace.com/allthatremains) and message the band with the heading "attn: drummer." Links to videos of interested candidates playing "This Calling" and "The Weak Willed" from ALL THAT REMAINS' new album, 'The Fall of Ideals' are required.

Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, considered the most important pioneer of heavy metal guitar, achieved his signature slow, heavy sound partially as a result of a factory accident in which the tips of his middle and ring fingers were severed. Iommi fashioned thimble-like prosthetics and relearned the instrument.
