The one man black metal project of Jacob Buczarski will see its debut on August 29. MARE COGNITUM will release 'The Sea Which Has Become Known,' a haunting and depressive album via Severed Limb Records. Taking from old school black metal bands like Darkthrone and Immortal, Jacob adds a modern progressive twist to the chilling soundscapes.
Buczarski recently gave Noisecreep some background on the track 'A Vain Lament':
"My lyrics are always written last after the song is in its final form. I simply listen to the finished track a few times and see what my imagination produces, usually a story or a character. I use this image to inspire lyrics, and often times I read over the final product and realize it does not seem to illustrate what I originally envisioned or that it came out much more vague.
"In the situation of 'A Vain Lament,' the lyrics involve one person's journey into a hypothetical afterlife where he is forced to finally stop to see the beauty of existence he had missed his entire life. I wrote this while particularly dismayed at the effect that things like constant advertising and commercialization have on the human mind, especially city dwellers like myself."
