MOTLEY CRUE Get Another Day Named After Them

In the Summer of 2008, the Los Angeles City Mayor's office announced that forever and ever, July 31 would be known as "Saints of Los Angeles Day" in honor of Motley Crue. People around the world rejoiced and celebrated with vodka, cocaine, and lines of ants in honor of their favorite rock band. I'm still feeling the effects from Saints of Los Angeles Day two weeks ago and now the city of West Hollywood wants to name tomorrow Motley Crue Day??? I don't think my liver can take much more of this.
In addition, Mötley Crüe will be honored as the 2011 recipients of the Elmer Valentine Award for their contributions to the history of The Sunset Strip. The invitation-only award ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at the House of Blues and kick off the fourth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival, a three-day celebration of music held along the iconic 1.6 mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard on Thursday, August 18 through Saturday, August 20.
