DREAM THEATER Has Announced That Mike Mangini Is The Bands New Drummer

Dream Theater has just posted the third and final video from their long drummer search that scoured the planet for the best drummer for the band. The field was narrowed to seven of todays top drummers but today, Mike Mangini (Steve Vai, Extreme, Annihilator) was announced to be Dream Theaters new drummer.

You can check out the video here as the band tells him via phone that he got the gig.

The drummer spot was vacated last year when Mike Portnoy announced he left the band and later tried to recant.
