The Gauntlet: Voivod Metal News

VOIVOD send new album off to be mastered

Voivod In the latest edition of the VOIVOD studio update blog, drummer Away revealed that mixing on the group's new album has been completed.

"We just finished the mixing of the album. Glen, Jason, Snake and I worked some crazy shifts to make sure that all the parts blend properly. Of course, we gave the guitar a particular attention. We really didn't want Piggy to be low in the mix. Glen is back in NYC and he's taking the album to Howie Weinberg for mastering today."

Recently the group signed a new European contract with Nuclear Blast Records, who will release the band's Glen Robinson (Voivoid "Nothingface" and GWAR)-produced record in late spring.

The band's prior record, "Voivod", was the first to feature ex-METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted. The latest record will include tracks recorded by the band's late guitarist, Piggy.

England's 1988 Castle Donnington Monsters of Rock festival featured one of the most enticing heavy metal lineups ever — Guns N' Roses, Megadeth, David Lee Roth, Kiss, and headlined by Iron Maiden (the show holds an attendance record of over 100,000).
