Winds of Plague comment on Mayhem Festival

Winds of Plague WINDS OF PLAGUE kicks off the New Year with a bang announcing their participation on this summer's much anticipated Mayhem Tour performing on the Jagermeister Stage alongside such major acts as Hatebreed, Chimaira and Shadows Fall. This is the band's biggest North American touring opportunity yet and it also marks their first outdoor festival tour.

The group also continues their extensive worldwide touring schedule in support of the highly acclaimed The Great Stone War in 2010 with another headliner dubbed the Never Say Die! Tour. This massive, month-long trek, which kicks off on Jan. 23rd, also features labelmates Despised Icon alongside For Today, Stray From The Path and The World We Knew.

WINDS OF PLAGUE just posted a killer, new live performance clip of the track "Chest and Horns," shot from their most recent hometown performance at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA, exclusively on their MySpace page. Be sure to visit to check out that new video and

Johnny (vocals) further states: "Mayhem Fest is like the Olympics of metal and words cannot express the excitement and gratitude we have to be part of this monster of a tour. For our first real summer festival tour we are pulling out all the stops and busting out the big guns. We are the youngest and probably the newest band on this year's elite line-up so we will be giving it our all to make our mark and leave an impression on everyone. From start to finish, all 30 minutes of our set on this year's Mayhem tour will be just that: Mayhem!

"However, keep in mind that 2010 starts with another headliner as we prepare for the 'Never Say Die! Tour' with the mighty Despised Icon, For Today and Stray From The Path. We promise you it will be a night to remember, so check out our MySpace page and be sure to come out, get sweaty and party your ass off. See you all soon."

WINDS OF PLAGUE has changed the landscape of heavy music upon release of their highly acclaimed, vicious new album, The Great Stone War, which made an impressive debut in its first week landing at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The new offering is going to quickly propel the band to the forefront of the American metal scene and serve as a much needed wake up call to the genre.
