GOJIRA TOPS BILLBOARD'S NEW ARTIST CHART

By jason

Gojira catapulted to the top of Billboard's New Artist chart this week with the release of The Way Of All Flesh, the band's second release for Prosthetic Records, while simultaneously debuting at #138 on the Billboard Top 200 (marking Prosthetic's third Top 200 debut in the past three months).

A highly anticipated album, the record sees Gojira expanding their audience with Alternative Press calling the new release, "…their most hopeful, tuneful album…," Brooklyn Vegan commenting, "The Way Of All Flesh is the thundering soundtrack of the vastly underrated Gojira reaching the pinnacle," Decibel describing the release as "genre-smashing" and Outburn awarding the release a perfect "10."

Revolver's current feature on the band quotes Lamb of God's Randy Blythe (who contributed vocals to "Adoration for None") as saying of the French quartet, "There's a beauty to their music because of he mindset behind it. They're very conscientious people, and everything they do is affected by their environment." Blythe's comment touches on the band member's dedication to highlighting environmental issues and the state of the planet.
