The Gauntlet: Abysmal Dawn Metal News

ABYSMAL DAWN Offers New Album Update

Abysmal Dawn Vocalist/ guitarist, Charles Elliott, of the Los Angeles-based extreme metal band ABYSMAL DAWN, recently offered an update on the progress of their upcoming sophomore release:

"We're running a little behind schedule, but we'll be entering John Haddad's (EYES OF FIRE, INTRONAUT) new studio in Corona, CA on November 2nd to start churning out some punishing new tunes. Lately we've been rehearsing like mad men trying to get everything perfect.
The songs are a bit more challenging to say the least but we wouldn't have it any other way! A lot of the newer material is in the 250 bpm range and we may even push it further if we're feeling crazy enough haha! Expect some faster stuff as well as some slightly longer epic songs this time around. We've been shredding away trying to write some jaw dropping leads for you guys as well. When it's all laid down to tape hopefully we turn a few heads and gain a few more fans in the process. I think it's pretty safe to say that this one is going to top "From Ashes" but we'll let you be the judge of that. Wish us luck!"

ABYSMAL DAWN's debut album, "From Ashes", was released in April 2006 via Crash Music Inc. It was engineered, mixed and mastered by John Haddad at Shiva Industries. The band toured in support of that album this past fall alongside SIX FEET UNDER, KRISIUN and DECAPITATED.
ABYSMAL DAWN has also played with reunited black metal legends EMPEROR and IMMORTAL.

The story line of ex-Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider's 1998 horror movie, Strangeland, was based on the track "Horror Teria (The Beginning)," off Twisted Sister's 1984 release Stay Hungry.
