The Gauntlet: Rage Metal News

Rage Comment On Upcoming Wacken Open Air 2007 Appearance


Rage As previously reported, RAGE will be performing at the Wacken Open Air 2007, which is is scheduled for August 2nd - 4th in Wacken, Germany. The band has issued the following statement:

"Rage are confirmed for the Wacken festival 2007. We will play a German wide exclusive show, together with an Orchestra, the first time since 10 years. The setlist will include both old Lingua Mortis/XIII material and new material from our last album and songs from (guitarist) Victor's last solo release, that were performed with the Rage musicians.

The show will probably be on the Thursday or Friday of the Wacken- weekend, with Rage in the Headliner position (tba), so don't miss it."

Other bands on the W:O:A 2007 bill include AMORPHIS, BELPHEGOR, BLACK MAJESTY, BLIND GUARDIAN, CANNIBAL CORPSE, COMMUNIC, ENSLAVED, GRAVE DIGGER, HAGGARD, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, IMMORTAL, IN FLAMES, J.B.O., KAMPFAR, MOONSORROW, MOONSPELL, NAPALM DEATH, SAMAEL, SAXON, SCHANDMAUL, SONIC SYNDICATE, STORMWARRIOR (featuring Kai Hansen), STRATOVARIUS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THERION, TYR and VOLBEAT.

    Hardcore Annal Sects

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was briefly a member of Jethro Tull band in the late '60s. Although he didn't record with the band, he appeared with Tull on the Rolling Stones' aborted 1968 TV special, Rock n' Roll Circus.
