SCALE THE SUMMIT offers in-depth recording blog

Houston instrumental metal band SCALE THE SUMMIT has issued an in-depth blog upon the completion of the band's Prosthetic Records debut, 'Carving Desert Caravans.' The entire blog from guitarist Chris Letchford, featuring photos and in-depth information about the recording process and equipment used, is available on the band's MySpace page. An excerpt on the process:

"Yo dudes! Just wanted to let all you guys know that we are all finished in the studio! This album is sounding absolutely amazing so far and I can't wait for you guys to get a chance to hear it. Mastering is scheduled for this Sunday, so the album will be all finished this weekend. We're all super excited. Make sure to stay tuned for our studio video edits, which I'm also making. Should be posting the first one soon. Lots of killer footage.

"Our studio experience this time was so great! We drove about 26 hours up to NJ in two days, which was fine. Not the first time for some long driving! We spent about 17 days up there for all the tracking (living out of a hotel) which technically put us behind schedule since we were supposed to also spend a few days out of that time on mixing. It was worth it though, we got the all the tracking perfect. Our engineer, Tom, was an awesome dude. Had to be, to be able to hang with the STS dudes you have to be on your toes at all times for sarcasm that at times can be so obscure you'll have no idea what's going on, ha ha. After day one, establishing that we were indeed not a Christian band, he joined in on the fun. We all wondered why we hadn't heard one cuss word."

'Carving Desert Caravans' is scheduled for a February 2009 release, and is the follow-up to SCALE THE SUMMIT's self-financed full-length debut, 'Monument,' which received critical praise upon its release in 2007.
