The Gauntlet: Drowning Pool Metal News

Drowning Pool take the fight to Washington

Drowning Pool Drowning Pool is finally bringing their cause to Washington, DC, alongside the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). Congressman Jim Moran will host a press conference on Wednesday 9/19 at 10:30am in support of the Lane Evans Mental Health Care Reform Bill on behalf of active duty troops and returning veterans. Drowning Pool and the IAVA teamed up earlier this year to support the bill and began working together on bringing attention to the current situation that US troops are facing upon returning from battle. This will be the first time that all three parties have come together publicly to speak out on the issue.

Drowning Pool are currently headlining the “This Is For The Soldiers” tour. For every ticket sold on the tour the band is donating a portion of the profits to the IAVA and the USO. Earlier in the year Drowning Pool helped launch thisisforthesoldiers.org with the IAVA and set up a petition that has received over 25,000 signatures in support of the proposed legislation.
