The Gauntlet: Down Metal News

Down Bassist Rex Brown Comments on Opening for Heaven and Hell

Down The Gauntlet caught up with Down bassist Rex Brown [ex-Pantera] recently and asked about opening for Heaven and Hell in Australia.

"We just got back from Australia on Friday." stated Rex. "We were supporting Heaven and Hell with Dio. It was such an honor playing with these guys. They were my idols growing up. Who would have thought that 30 years down the road, I am having Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler wave me over for coffee at a hotel. It was too surreal. It is good to be alive man. Ronnie is such a fucking sweetheart. It really made us pull our bootstraps up and realize we need to get tight. These mother fuckers are tearing our asses up and they are a generation past us."

Down's upcoming album, "Down III - Over the Under," will be release on September 25.
