The Gauntlet: Poison Metal News

BRET MICHAELS CONTINUES THE SEARCH FOR HIS "ROCK OF LOVE"

Bret Michaels Over 3.9 million total viewers tuned into the “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” reunion special this past Sunday night (10/7) to learn that Bret's love match was a mismatch. VH1 will continue to help Bret find his ‘rose’ and announces today that a second season of the record-breaking series will premiere on VH1 in early 2008.
After handing in her VIP pass, Jes, the pink-haired beauty proved she was not fit to handle Bret Michaels’ rock-star lifestyle. But the tour continues on and the Poison frontman is searching again for someone to ‘rock his world.’ The second season will feature 20 new women pining for Bret’s heart.
The women will be tested on their devotion to him and their love and understanding for rock-n-roll. To help narrow the field, Michaels will put these women through various challenges. Those who win these challenges will join Michaels on some wild and exclusive excursions, while those who can’t hang like true backstage VIPs will be escorted out.
Sunday night’s (10/7) “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” reunion special earned a 2.6 rating in the key 18-49 demo, +71% above the show’s season average and the second highest-rated episode of the series. The reunion special attracted 3.0 million P18-49 viewers and was the #1 non-sports telecast on cable for the week.
The season finale, which aired on Sunday, September 30 averaged 4.1 million viewers in the demo and attracted 5.4 million total viewers. While recording Smashing Pumpkins' "Crush," producer Butch Vig told Billy Corgan he'd have to take off his jewellery for the guitar solo. Instead he kept it on, and the percussive effect audible in the background is the jewelry playing loosely in time with Billy's wrist as he strums.
