Scott Weiland Released From Prison 'Just Hours Into Sentence'

Velvet Revolver Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has reportedly been released from prison – just 10 hours into an eight day sentence.

Weiland began his sentence, given to him last month after he pled no contest to a drunk driving charge.

However, according to TMZ, the singer was later released at 6.54pm.

The charge against Weiland related to an incident on a Los Angeles freeway last November.

It is the second time that the singer has received a conviction for DUI in nearly four years.

In addition to his sentence, Weiland received a fine and was told to enter an 18-month alcohol program.
