Scott Weiland Released From Prison 'Just Hours Into Sentence'

Velvet Revolver Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has reportedly been released from prison just 10 hours into an eight day sentence.

Weiland began his sentence, given to him last month after he pled no contest to a drunk driving charge.

However, according to TMZ, the singer was later released at 6.54pm.

The charge against Weiland related to an incident on a Los Angeles freeway last November.

It is the second time that the singer has received a conviction for DUI in nearly four years.

In addition to his sentence, Weiland received a fine and was told to enter an 18-month alcohol program.
