The Gauntlet: Flyleaf Metal News

Flyleaf Album Certified Platinum

Flyleaf 2007 FLYLEAF was given its' platinum album award last week for sales of one million copies of the band's self-titled 2005 debut album. The band has barely had a chance to reflect on its success. "They keep us so busy that we really don't know quite what's going on," claims guitarist Sameer. "We haven't really had time to reflect on what's happening. We've just been kind of 'go, go, go.'That's probably the best part about it, just getting to travel and getting to see other people everywhere you go, and different cultures and everything. It's one of those things that people, you know, dream of doing and no one really gets a chance to do it, you know, and here we are, it's our job."

The band has toured with Korn, Family Values, Seether, Shinedown, aswell as headining tours across the US and Europe.

FLYLEAF will begin work on its second CD sometime later this year. The band already has several songs written.

    Hardcore Annal Sects

Kurt Cobain originally called his group Skid Row, unaware of the '80s hair-metal band (whose music Cobain would later wipe off the charts) that used the name already. Ironically, after settling on Nirvana and achieving worldwide success, the group was sued by the '60s psychedelic outfit with the same name. Fortunately, the bands settled the dispute amicably, finding enough Nirvana to share between them.
