Happy Birthday To The True Founder Of Heavy Metal
The Gauntlet would like to wish a very happy birthday to the man for whom heavy metal would not be possible without. Happy Birthday Nikola Tesla and thank you for your contributions to heavy metal. Although he was never in a metal band or a band, he did invent alternating current (AC) which runs your amps and gear to give you that metal sound. Before him, metal was just acoustic. You know those wireless boxes that take the guitar signal to the amp so your favorite metal band doesn't trip as they jump around one stage? Those use several of Tesla's patents.
Those speakers with the magnets in your amp, yup, Tesla's patents and theories in electromagnetism helps amplify your bands sound.
When bands go out on tour, they rely on one of Tesla's inventions to get them from gig to gig, the spark plug. Tesla invented that in 1898.
