COMMON DEAD Owes RAMMSTEIN Fans An Apology For Latest Cover Song

I've always been a fan of cover songs. It always interests me to hear another artists perspective on a bands song. Some artists change things for the better, like Jimi Hendrix's cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower". On the flipside of that, you have COMMON DEAD, who recently released a cover of Rammstein's "Mehr". A solo artist covering what takes six guys to play is quite an ambitious undertaking. But in this case, it is not what caused frontman and sole member Andrew Laurenson to fail in such splendid fashion. Common Dead decided to take the raw power of the German language out of the song and translate the words to English. I applaud Andrew for the effort, but admonish him for not realizing this was a complete and utter failure and having the common sense decency to not release into the public.
