More bands boycotting BP this Summer
According to CNN.com, a number of artists are turning their summer tours into BP-free odysseys. MEGADETH, ROB ZOMBIE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and ANTHRAX are all bypassing BP fuel/Arco gas stations for other options, according to a statement. Early estimates show about 100 buses, vehicles and trucks belonging to committed musicians are involved in the boycott.
Kevin Lyman, tour director for the Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival which is another tour boycotting BP fuel, said in the statement, "We have so many friends that are now affected by this spill that unless BP spends whatever is needed their livelihoods are lost forever....we are encouraging everyone we deal with to find alternative ways to get down the road this summer."
