Top 10 ways to deal with unruly fans

Fans...bands need them, but at times they can be real assholes by jumping on stage, launching projectiles at the stage, and doing anything in their power to get a band members attention. Like all great lists, this one goes to 11.

Axl Rose

Axl is notorious for kicking fans out of the show. From wearing shirts he doesn't like and throwing shit on stage to taking pictures of him on stage.

When frontman Howard Jones was confronted last year, he didn't back down and challenged the guy to get on stage.

If you are going to throw a water bottle at bassist Nikki Sixx, make sure it isn't funny as he will call you out for a few minutes. The problem was, Nikki tossed the bottle of water to the girl and she simply tossed it back to him.

Fights break out in the pit all the time. The way this band dealt with it was classic; playing Eye of the Tiger.

The Times Online is reporting that when an unruly fan "burst through the security and jumped on stage to greet the band, [Til] Lindemann turned a flame-thrower on him. The kid ran amok, his clothing ablaze, before stage hands doused him with fire extinguishers." Of course this was all a stunt put on by the band as part of their elaborate pyro filled live show. Quite possibly the best way to deal with fans that jump on stage comes from Maynard. During a song, some fan bypassed security and got onto the stage and approached Maynard. With security busy elsewhere, Maynard decided to go MMA on the dude and never missed a word in the song, even while having the kid in a choke hold.
