This isn't a review about the movie unfortunately because as a fan of ATHF I would have a lot to say, instead we turn our attention to the half ass soundtrack they put together for the movie.
Featuring acts such as Mastodon, Unearth and Dana Snyder (aka Shake), the soundtrack features what many might consider to be a very metal oriented soundtrack as it is no surprise that the William Street crew are down with metal. Instead you get some metal bands playing songs that Dave Willis and co. has written and wanted bands to play. The Unearth song is about as good as Unearth's latest release which means poor people, ya' follow? The Mastodon song "Cut You up with a Linoleum Knife" is pretty raggedy and they just threw the actual version of MC Chris's "I Want Candy" on there for filler. "Nude Love" the song by Shake, pretty much hints as to how they should've done the soundtrack; as just one big goof and a compilation of all the goofy songs that have been oriented with the show (such as the happy birthday Zack Wylde song) and as mentioned before MC Chris, and lets not forget Andrew W.K.’s contribution with “Party Party Party”. This isn't something you'll be grabbing up to go along with the movie, and is something that should’ve just been included on the DVD of the film which will be hitting stores very soon I’m sure.
Soundtracks are always a little bit iffy but a soundtrack for a 15 minute short cartoon that was made into an hour and a half film is just doing a soundtrack for the sake of doing one.
