Taking cues from Carcass and Cannibal Corpse, Gorerotted bring a savage death metal attack to the fore with a great balance of technical blasting and straight out grinding on their latest platter of splatter, 'A New Dawn For The Dead.' The timely accents of drummer Junko help to set the band apart from the pack, as he is simply all over his drum kit on each and every track. The record gets started with the crusher '…And Everything Went Black' and complete chaos rages from there on standout cuts 'Nervous Gibbering Wreck' and 'Adding Insult To Injury', where the ferocious technicalities are coupled with a severe, relentless hammering. Frontman Ben Goreskin provides a versatile approach, alternating between voices that give Gorerotted a dynamic that many other goregrind bands lack. The production quality is top-notch, with each of the players standing out as they launch into their mangled, crunching attacks. A voracious attack sparks 'Dead Drunk', a track that is purely mind-blowing in terms of sheer sonic intensity. Gorerotted are at their best when issuing complete chaos, but fans will no doubt enjoy the mid tempo breaks which lapse into grinding madness as well. The guitar accentuations are well placed and add a lot to the group's overall sound as Goreskin issues throaty barks and guttural growls with a commanding presence. 'A Very Grave Business' makes use of a slimy, descending chromatic riff that simply kills. A violent vortex of gore laced death, 'A New Dawn For The Dead' is nothing less than a crucial platter of virulent sickness.
