The new line up for Deicide, or Glen Benton with guys who play in his band, circles around the band's last release "Scars of The Crucifix" with a few positive attributes added.
"Stench of Redemption" is certainly one of the better titles for a Deicide release and as you will hear, the band is definitely done with the days of "In Torment, In Hell" and "Insineratehymn".
This new one certainly adds another layer on to the heavy aspect, the production has more depth than "Scars of the Crucifix" and the technicality is still there. I don't know if this release really outdoes the last overall but it sounds alot better so in that way it is a better disc. Benton's vocals have gotten increasingly disgusting over the years, I wonder how but not really. Then of course are the lyrics which are always fun to hear about how some Christian will be castrated by Satan's anus over and over.
Yep, not much change here except for the fact that Deicide continue to remain one of the more recognizable death metal acts out there and have not let up despite Benton's legal issues with home and band and the drastic line up change that was well recovered for the better.
