It kicks ass that bands like Napalm Death and Morbid Angel are still making albums and touring. But it kicks an equal amount of ass that new bands like Decapitated are carrying on the tradition that those bands started. Amazingly, when Decapitated formed in 1996 the average age of the members was 14 years old. These guys obviously began their study at the Morbid Angel /Napalm Death school of metal at a very early age. People questioned their ability because of their age but have been proved very wrong over the course of their career. They signed to the same record label as Napalm Death and Morbid Angel (Earache) and released their first album in 2000. They helped infuse the death metal genre with new blood that is now keeping it alive.

Decapitated's new album 'Organic Hallucinosis' is yet another installment in their catalog of excellently executed, technical, death metal music. It has a slightly more classical or (dare I say it) melodic sound than their previous works but this departure is only really evident in the hint of blues that can be detected in the guitar solos. Overall, 'Organic Hallucinosis' remains true to what death metal and grind core connoisseurs as well as long time fans of the band will appreciate. Fast, chunky guitar shredding layered over dominating, heavy, blast beat drums. Their song structure is somewhat scattered and people who are not really into Decapitated and death metal may not appreciate 'Organic Hallucinosis' for this reason. The songs on this album tend to run together into one long grinding opus that would be the perfect background music for a party full of metal heads.

great album... I don't know why the reviewer keeps calling it grindcore though, it isnt.
