Forget 'Reroute to Remain' and forget 'Soundtrack to Your Escape' while your at it as well because 'Come Clarity' is starting to get back to the good In Flames, the Clayman and 'Colony' days. We know by now the band isn't going to be getting heavy into their 'Jester Race' era anytime soon so its time to accept their directions or just drop them altogether. I've thought about dropping them altogether but they are a worth a listen still and 'Come Clarity' is more than worthy of that listen more so than the past two albums have been.
Clarity was something that the band certainly experienced on this release, as it now exemplifies their ability to meld their older sound with their new appeal which in the case of 'Soundtrack to Your Escape' just became another reach for mainstream popularity and abandoned their true nature. But now, the band are back with a more intelligent approach to their striving for that degree of success in the way that the songs on this album are back to the Swedish Death Metal days of the band while keeping the huge entourage of chorus and catchy guitar work the band is so apt to.
The album opens nicely with 'Take This Life' pounding its way into your head and making you remember the good ol' In Flames while 'Leeches' and 'Pacing Death's Trail' further exemplify their reawakening. For older In Flames' fans this CD will rekindled your faith with the band. 'Come Clarity' can't erase the mistakes of the past but it does show that those mistakes won't be made again.
