Throughout all the trends and tribulations of the past three decades hardcore music always endured. The Warriors, one of the more recent additions to the genre, delivers its own unique mix of hardcore and metal influences right to your face. Some of the coolest guys you will ever meet, the members of The Warriors came together in Tehachapi, California, a little town in the same county as Bakersfield, and released their first album in 2003. Heavy and aggressive but still catchy at times, The Warriors third album 'Genuine Sense of Outrage', was produced by Motorhead and Social Distortion producer Cameron Webb. The Warriors have definitely grown as a band in that time and this new album reflects that with tight song structure and great guitar work. Vocalist Marshall Lichtenwaldt shouts angry socially conscience lyrics over bouncy rhythms and fast crunchy guitars. The title track on the album 'Genuine Sense of Outrange' is like listening to a fist fight with squealing distorted guitars battling the intense bass and drums. 'Your Time is Near' comes in with a really kick ass intro from drummer Matt Anderson then the creepy, metal guitar kicks in on top. The guest appearance of Lemmy Kilmister, vocalist from Motorhead, on 'Price of Punishment' is a definite highlight especially since that is one of the best written songs on the album. 'Genuine Sense of Outrage' is completely worth checking out as a hardcore album and also as a metal album.
