Dance Club Massacre makes its debut on the Metal Blade imprint with "Feast of the Blood Monsters". With its cheesy horror movie cover and even cheesier band name, the album is a full scale grind attack that has it's moments of more over produced contemporary versions of grind. The band takes you on a silly ride fully equipped with goofy elaborate song titles that are a lyricist’s chance at getting one liners memorable as song titles. So we have; short songs, check, long goofy song titles, check, and grind, check. That is pretty much the list that constitutes grind these days and very few are pulling it off in a very noteworthy way.

Dance Club Massacre are certainly fun, and very heavy but the album can become just as monotone as a 4/4 breakdown. This is not to say the album is a 4/4 breakdown yet there are moments that the trail of down tuned madness the band weaves are very similar to most bands taking the grind route these days (i.e. See You Next Tuesday, Destroyer Destroyer). The band does it well, as well as one can do the blast beat with fast barked vocals and speedy pull offs. The band is still young and will hopefully broaden their approach to grind. For a debut album, “Feast of the Blood Monsters” does the trick and Dance Club Massacre is having a lot of fun, and bringing you with them.
