Many of you out there are relieved that Palehorse has returned and for a damn good reason. Palehorse are one of the more promising hardcore acts today. "Amongst The Flock" further proves such a statement as you fans of HC already know. Palehorse is a band that manages to successfully fuse a degree of metal and punk in their hardcore roots without sounding completely terrible or ridiculous in the process.

This is a band with immense spirit as shown lyrically and musically. This is a band that joins the integrity of the Bridge 9 roster and have something musically worthwhile to show for it. With only one other full length and a split under them, it was only a matter of time before they came back to kick face. Their riffs a very crunchy and there is an excellent presence of the bass guitar so you get alot of punch with each track. They definitely go for the more raw approach to their recording which makes it sound all the better in the context they are presenting their style in. Also, something to note about this disc is that there isn’t a ridiculous amount of breakdowns. Like actual hardcore the breakdowns are there but they aren't set up as predictable and cliché. They fuse many heavy elements well with their song arrangements while blaring their voice loud and clear. This is simple, heavy, and fun music played a sneer above the rest.

It's good to have a band like Palehorse around that sticks to their diction when they could easily do what all those other shitty haircut tight pant bastards are doing these days. "Amongst The Flock" is not a vain attempt striving for Hot Topic distribution, it is dirty, mean, and will kick your ass. The way hardcore should be.
