We all fell for the hype of the Daughters on their first release “Canada Songs” and after much waiting, jazz hand fans have their chance to realize how bad the Daughters are just fucking with them and how the band isn’t that good after all.

It seems that all of this time the band was merely screwing around and putting together the biggest collection of jokes you could possibly find on an album. It’s obvious they don’t take themselves seriously or their music, and unfortunately for Hydra Head they chose to do this on their debut with the label. This release will certainly turn alot of fans away as it doesn’t incorporate the dissonant chord sliding circus music mixed with breakdowns along with the memorable squirrel screams. Then again there is probably a small percentage that will enjoy this album regardless of the recognizable traits that made the first album so popular. You’ll get about a percent of what you heard on “Canada Songs” so please do not get your hopes up.

The joke is on all of us with this one, Daughters aren’t even trying now and they probably don’t even give a shit about doing so. The album is filled with corny lines, dorky guitars which seem as if they took all of hours to come up with and an overall demeanor that has them laughing at anyone who buys this. Those of you who have already heard this album and actually enjoy it will be the sorry suckers saying “You just don’t get it”, which is a thought even worse than “Hell Songs”.
