Remember 108? You will know if you don’t or if you’ve never heard of them. Equal Vision has made available, for your enjoyment, a two disc set which spans the group’s career though not very long, it was a very accomplished one. The whole package was put together nicely and the liners are filled with info, especially the band’s commentary on every track of this collection. “Creation, Sustenance, Destruction” is that one that any 108 fan should own if they haven’t already grabbed up the band’s discography and for those unaware of this excellent hardcore band it gives them a chance to discover this fine act.

108 was a band that was not set out to just do the hardcore thing, they had that particular passion and love for music overall. This extended love for music helped them become excellent song writers in the vein of hardcore while being able to think outside of that mindset. As you will read in the liners for the song commentary, this was no typical hardcore band; they were influenced by a lot and influenced many from that inherit ability to play well rounded heavy music. You get a good sense of who the band is from this collection and it lets you in to discover their mentality of their creation.

While most collections throw a bunch of rare tracks and maybe a video or two, this 108 collection really lets you know who 108 truly is. Even if you have their albums this collection proves to be a worthy listen as it is one band’s history and all of their love for what they created.
