After almost breaking up, The Fall of Troy took the time off to mature in their ways and come back with another album. Most bands would have just split and thrown in the towel quickly. The Fall Of Troy is a band that knows what needs to be done and they accomplished it, the end product is "Manipulator". Far from the band's first album and a little further from their second effort "Doppelganger", the band changes as it should but is still Fall of Troy.

The opening track "Cut Down All The Trees and Name The Streets After Them" serves up the more mellow screamo effect this band takes hold of and then turns into a heavy mess towards the end, sounds like Fall Of Troy to me. There are the slow tracks which I personally do not enjoy to the fullest extent but they always come around full circle and turn it into a catchy rock track. Very spontaneous as usual, the album is full of quick lefts and sharp rights that have you captured in every song awaiting what kind of direction it will take next. As usual The Fall of Troy put forth a notable effort that as not forgotten their more abrasive roots from the first disc but includes their recent revival of left field tactics, and chaotic back and forth between the mellow and the aggressive.

"Manipulator" is another notch in the belt for The Fall of Troy who should be damn proud of their work in a land where band's could easily go south with the next release, and instead choosing to include and go beyond previous efforts. This is a damn fine release by a band that realizes their potentials with song and utilizes them correctly.
