On a mission to make all which is evil fun again, these five ghastly pin-ups including Slipknot's Joey Jordison, Tripp Eisen of Static-X fame and enigmatic frontman Wednesday 13 rip and tear through fifteen horror rock anthems like the bouncing shocker 'Slit My Wrist' and the Motley meets Misfits trash rock of leadoff single 'Dead In Hollywood.' 13 does a good take on Faster Pussycat style sneering on the goofy yet memorable 'Twist My Sister.' Sporting enough agnostic, undead attitude to shake up the local PTA meeting, '197666' takes the listener on a punked-up, screw-you joyride in the Munstermobile.
Metal has needed a band like Murderdolls for a long time. The type of snotty yet shocking presence they hold has been long overdue. Don't be surprised if you hear a hefty Alice Cooper influence in the vocals and lyrics of 13, his love for shock rock quite obviously travels back to the genre's inception and although he takes cues from the masters of the style, he ultimately comes off as his own, significantly demented, man. The introduction to 'Grave Robbing U.S.A.' is hilarious, when the band kicks into a hammering, up-tempo that comes off as one part Poison and another part Glenn Danzig circa. 1978. There's plenty more to dig your morbid little teeth into here, including the ultra-trashy 'People Hate Me', 'Let's Go To War', a clanking punch in the mouth, and last but certainly not least, the middle finger flipping of 'Motherfucker, I Don't Care.'
Rude as hell, completely obnoxious and a rock your ass off session equal to the length of the CD, 'Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls' is one nightmare that you definitely want to have over and over again!
