You know there are many out there that probably think this band is actually good, or funny, or metal, or whatever the hell. The thing is that GWAR rip off band's have no effect on me and despite all the lame hype Lordi has been getting I'm not falling for it it, and neither should you. "The Arockalypse" marks the band's debut effort on The End records and it is a very contrived album that doesn't even need help discrediting it. Yes, there are areas in the album that just scream cornball metal and yes I'm sure that's the whole deal with them, and if you think I "just don't get" guess again. With all the hoo ha surrounding this band it is clearly in how they dress which despite the GWAR reference they seem to have put alot of money and effort into their shtick. But image does not speak for itself as the band attempt the whole cock rock thing while keeping a funny outlook about it. This has been done before, and will be done again, remember Motley Crue? Scary the fact that they were actually serious though and I'm afraid Lordi might take the same path. Now back to the actual album and the music of said album. The songs themselves, as said before, are corny rock anthems that I'm sure in a live setting are very enjoyable.
