The sophomore effort from Lair of the Minotaur should push the band into further awareness to the unaware minds and make one of the few real metal bands of today known. Titled "Ultimate Destroyer" (so metal dude) and equipped with some evil artwork, flashbacks of classic thrash albums come to mind and the same occurs when played.
Lair of the Minotaur pronounces the greatest traits of heavy metal the way others fail miserably attempting. Fast, heavy, raw, dirty and relentless, the signs all point to Lair of the Minotaur, a band that obviously knows what true metal is all about. Musically and lyrically the songs say it all, once again for those not hip to the band they roar forward songs about Greek mythology and songs about pure Armageddon. The band takes hold of all tempos intelligently, slow and fast to make for plenty of devastation.
Adding onto what the band's first release "Carnage" began, Lair of the Minotaur pound out a full length that has a duration of about 40 minutes, 40 minutes which you will want to relive again and again. This captivation is what most "metal bands" today fail to grasp; that whole know how of playing well written metal which does NOT require tattoos and eye liner. As most individuals with good sense are aware, most shit out there now that is being called metal is hardly that while it is done in vain and disenchants a great music.
Lair of the Minotaur is the band any well rounded metal head should look to for saving amongst the blasphemies seen on "metal" magazine covers today. Lair of the Minotaur is the axe in their heads.
This is metal.
