Here's a quick glimpse at Rickets, a Cleveland-based group that combines Nu-metal-riffic influences with spooky themes and corpsepaint. In other words, these guys can lay down a bangin' jam and look evil as hell while doing it. Rock! Totally! Into Slipknot, Mushroomhead and the like? Songs like 'Hollywood' will undoubtedly appeal to you. A pissed-off, fuck you attitude permeates the Dopey sounds of 'Blister' and there are plenty of people out there that can identify with that sort of thing right now. Elements of punk and straight-ahead modern rock collide with rumbling riffing and industrial rock elements on the title track

Touches of rapping and Linkin Park-type choruses will likely scare of the extreme metal purists, but there is an ample amount of anger and aggression behind the sounds of Rickets to warrant them as being more aggressive than your average bunch of mall core types. 'Bitter Words' finds the group scoring with a song that's hooky enough to hit rock radio but edgy enough to have credibility with metal fans.

If this five-track offering is what we can expect from a forthcoming Rikets full length, fans are in store for quite the formidable offering indeed. For now, 'Anything For The Devil' is an excellent way to meet the more sinister side of Corporate Punishment's rapidly growing roster of quality acts.

Kirk Hammett of Metallica was vacationing in Cabo San Lucas and walked into Cabo Wabo while the Mexican band Vitamin T was playing a cover of 'Until It Sleeps'. Hammett walked over and grabbed a guitar and jammed along with the band.
