While there were several respectable grunge and nu-metal bands surfacing in the 90's, lately anything coming from either of these genres has been, for the most part, extremely bland. Bullets For Teeth are a British band who draw influence from both genres and, unfortunately, are worse than bland. The style that they play is almost completely exhausted. Everything they're doing has been done dozens of times before, and each time before it was done a hell of a lot better than Bullets For Teeth are attempting to do now.

"Six Sides of Fortune" is not only conspicuously boring, it is also sometimes quite painful to listen to. Not only are the guitars slow and uncreative, they are often out of sync with each other. The lyrics are infantile and never say anything interesting. It sounds like the lead singer has a vocabulary of maybe twenty or so words that he uses over and over. The worst part, however, are the vocals, which defy all previous definitions of the word 'bad.' Aside from being too whiny, they are often completely off-key, like during several parts of 'Checkmate.'

There may be no hope for 'Bullets For Teeth.' Unless a band member is struck by an inspirational bolt of lightening, nothing will be able to pull them out of the horrible monotonous pit they currently reside in. After making one album in 'Six Sides of Fortune' maybe it would be best if they just stopped altogether. It would be the merciful thing to do, because subjecting reviewers to this kind of garbage is very unkind.

Yes, it is true that Bullets for Teeth was poorly categorized. Many bands in the index at The Gauntlet are. This has been brought to the attention of various members of the staff, and when the administrator isn't doing other, more productive things, it will be remedied. As for your personal comments, I cannot help but be amused at how misled you are and how inadequate your language skills are. Whether the reviewer has enjoyed coitus is at this point irrelevant. And, in fact, were I to choose between his choice language skills and keen ear and your misguided, tragic demeanor, I would select the former without hesitation or regret. And, may I add, that when he does choose to engage in intercourse, I hope his selected mate is far more intellectual and perceptive than you. Cheers, enjoy your outlived and overstretched angst anthems; the product of "Stupidity, Madness" (Quoted directly from Bullets For Teeth's myspace page) Cheers!

Oh dear Andrew!!! I find it very amusing that this site not only lists Bullets For Teeth as been american, it also lists them as a nu metal band! 2 things which automatically discredit this review by this obviously bullied as a child reviewer! I came across Bullets For Teeth through myspace and loved there songs, since then i bought the album at HMV and i consider it to be the best album ive bought in a long time.. No they are not groundbreaking, They are a simple grunge rock band who fulfill every need to people who enjoy that genre. After seeing them live in glasgow, i can honestly say they are one of the most powerfull bands live ever!!! The singer can actually sing which is why i think the twat who wrote the original review dosent like it... Whats the matter? do you prefer vocals were the singer uses 2000 words and you cant hear any of them? you no the sort, Were they sound like there bein raped by a fuckin elephant!!!! I think the reviewer is still a virgin and enjoys noisy music so he can forget about his miserable life! anyone with any sense will make there own mind up about this band www.myspace.com/bulletsforteeth Better luck next time!

Perhaps you should listen for yourself and make your own mind up,and not let some moron tell you what is good or bad.
