Oh the world of hardcore, endless amounts of acts but how do we decipher each from the other? It's hard, for some it does not matter, for all genres have their look alikes, have their similars, and clones but there are some that although similar to others, provide you with good hardcore regardless. Shockingly, XlookingforwardX provide a hardcore fan with that enjoyment with resemblance.

Their new full length 'The Path We Tread' is what well written hardcore is all about. The band by no means has a sound to call their own, but no matter here for it's one of those efforts that relies on the effort. How it's done is what it's all about here and these guys know how it's done. It can become contradictory to the fact as one can begin to enjoy multiple HC acts while probably tripping over their own feet with dislike for one and like for another but that's the fun about being fickle.

This album will provide HC fans with everything they love about the X's and the pile ons of never ending good hearted punches to the face and even though they do carry the whole X X within the name, which has been driven deep into the ground, their music certainly makes up for the cliché. You get 19 tracks here of angst, good spirited, high esteemed HC that makes it all worth it and even though you might find it hard to reach the end of the disc without that impending repetition, it will be a most enjoyed repeating that HC fans thrive on.
