All right, here's a damn cool album.

Kayser delivers thrash metal with an astutely original twist. 'Kaiserhof' has that certain something that makes an album sound very distinct. Those who grooved on Flotsam and Jetsam's 'When The Storm Comes Down' should understand perfectly. Not to say Kayser sound like Flots. No, no, no – this is a band that have their own thing going on. Spice, the band's vocalist, has a powerful voice but keeps the emphasis on melody as opposed to screaming, which complements the band's vibe very well.

Riffing that comes from the 'Master Of Puppets' style gives the music of Kayser a crisp edge and the amount of chugging rhythms would suit any fan of that particular sound. Guitarist Swaney can kick out a mean sounding riff like any other mutha, and his bluesy soloing recalls the proficiency and style of both Slash and Kirk Hammett. Don't even get started talking about the awesome guitar tones here...

The type of record that is tailor-made to rock the hell out to, 'Kaiserhoff' finds this adept four-piece unit to simply crush the competition and for that matter, most anything the mighty Metallica have come up with since the day they decided to start playing rock instead of thrash. Highlights: The doomy, slithering '7 Days To Sink' and the forward-thrusting 'Lost Cause.' Waste no time and seek this one out.
