Aiden have struck gold with 'Nightmare Anatomy' as the band have near-perfected their Misfits meets Motley Crue, horror rock vibe, accenting the overall affair with hints of core and pop punk, ultimately resulting in an energetically infectious listen. 'The Last Sunrise' develops from an edgy metal lick to bluster, this song's powerful chorus slicing through the mix and pasting itself directly to the listener's memory.

The group's vocalist Wil is moody, yet distinctly tuneful on the driving standout track 'Die Romantic', with the Michael Graves era of Misfits long past, this track is close as you're going to get to the harmonies exhibited by the highly influential group. Addition of a crushing metal bridge reveals the band's more sinister nature. Aiden capably pull together enough energy in their writing to spark a pit and do so with an ear toward melody that makes for a potent combination.

The production on this record is top quality, with Steve 'The Devil' Carter showing that he is highly competent at getting excellent tones, especially in the area of drums. The knob turner pulls off a deep, resounding kick drum sound that hits you right in the chest, which makes songs like 'Genetic Design For Dying' and 'Unbreakable (I.J.M.A.)' thunderous and magnificently inspiring.

'Knife Blood Nightmare' is both vicious and venomous, a flurry of pounding mid-tempo double-kick work, crisp, razor-sharp riffing and gruff screaming contrasted by Wil's smooth, intensely melodic vox. It's tracks such as this that show Aiden to be one of the most highly relevant bands holding up the horror rock mantle, and 'The Last Sunrise' succeeds as well, with an aggressive, in-your-face sonority.

Victory Records have a surefire winner in Aiden as this band is not looking to be the next big thing, they already are. 'Nightmare Anatomy' will most assuredly make a major impact, with this album's forceful cuts paving the way toward major recognition for a group that have finally grown into prime time, bona-fide rock stars. Don't miss this one.

Green Jello was the original name for '90s goof metal band Green Jelly, but the group was forced to change its name when the Jell-O company voiced displeasure and threatened a lawsuit.
