4. Zatokrev
5. Fourem

A sublime journey through sludge and anti-harmony, Zatokrev tread much the same path as another Earache Records act, the much revered Godflesh.

Dissonant, growling guitars loom as the anguished vocals of Frederyk Rotter hover above. There are in fact, some brief instances of melody to be found amongst the distorted rumblings if one delves deeply into these five lava-like tracks, but the overall emphasis is on unrestrained sonic deconstruction.

A twisting contortion of discordant mayhem, 'Reveal' is a plodding masterpiece of atonal creation. Rotter reverts to a dreamy vocal effect during the chorus of 'C Through', which makes the track all the more crushing from a musical perspective.

A video clip for the surrealistic, mysterious 'Zatokrev' is included here, being a fairly stripped down band performance that shows the band straddling the line between stoner rock and pure doom. The clip offers a look into what one could expect from the band's live performance and serves as a good visualization of the group's weighty interpretation of sonic grit.

At once forceful and apocalyptic, the monumental refrains you will find on this self-titled disc are overtly crushing, as Zatokrev enter the arena bearing an impressive amount of aural thunder.
