Dark Funeral were one of the first bands I listened to when I started getting into black metal and I've always had a particularly soft spot for them. I was hoping this would be a radical development in their style, but Atlero Totus Sanctus is pretty much Vobicsum Satanas Part II. Same deal, same general production sound.

The music is a little refined, still as vicious and blackened. More sub-layers, more parts. Some of the songs have a mid-tempo, sludging epicness. Most are violently fast and usher forth total annihilation. No surprises here, but that's what I was looking for to start.

Any Dark Funeral fan will dig it regardless.
