Before you stop by the record store to pick this one up, take a cruise by the local medical supply store and get a neck brace to go along with it. ETID have enough thrashing barrages here to break your neck in eleven different places as they dish out a heaping plateful of angst-riddled, thrashing metal that downright rocks.
If you have not had the distinct pleasure of checking one of this group's albums out as of yet, you no doubt must have seen the video for 'Kill The Music' that's plastered all over MTV2 and Fuse. If not, you're definitely due to give it a peep. Keith Buckley has an original vocal delivery, especially for the band's style of music. This does a great deal to give Every Time I Die a sound that separates the group from the pack.
Highlights include the down-and-dirty 'The New Black', the leadoff cut 'Apocalypse Now And Then' and the highly catchy 'Kill The Music', which is nothing less than a call to arms for a new metal legion to arise. In that this record has it together on so many levels you can call it whatever you like, a ringer, a milestone or a sure-fire hit. Anyway you cut it, 'Gutter Phenomenon' is damn tasty.
