If there is there is anything worth giving a long and deep listen to this year it is Melechesh's fourth full length "Emissaries". This album also marks the debut of the band's new drummer Xul. For those of you aware of this epic black metal act, this album should be a no brainer but there are those who need to experience this band to know what kind of powerful metal there really is out there.

This is a band who find themselves coming off black metal at times even though there is plenty of extreme metal pounding its way through each track. The production quality of this album is something that bears mentioning due to the fact that it brings the band's powerful song writing to epic levels.

Each song is filled with substance. From dynamics in structure to just plain awesome blasting riffs that soar in delicate layering, Melechesh make this a very exciting release. The mysticism themes in song still lie intact as they are done in an intelligent manner rather than a ridiculous one.

"Emissaries" is one of the more notable heavy releases to come out this year thus far for the reason that it is a band doing what they have been for the past three albums with an even more aggressive approach to their monumental power. This is a band for those who of course have enjoyed the group
