From the latest generation of the NY hardcore-metal scene comes Full Blown Chaos, releasing its third studio album 'Heavy Lies the Crown' after forming around 2000. Full Blown Chaos is the evolution of NY hardcore, adding a bit of progressive guitar work and innovative song structure to the classical hardcore sound.
Songs like 'Fall Like a Champ' are full blown thrash metal with a slower tempo but then the eerie, shredding tremolo of the guitar comes in making the song a bit more innovative than your average hardcore opus. But this is not the poppy metalcore of Atreyu either, or even the prog fury of Trivium. Full Blown Chaos is a beast unto itself. The title track 'Heavy Lies the Crown' starts with almost progressive sounding guitar scale work and then double bass drum fury and angry vocals come in with equal intensity.
Full Blown Chaos creates an inventive mix of guitar scale work and thrash metal ferocity that ignites the listener. Moshing is definitely a required element of listening to 'Heavy Lies the Crown' even if you have to bust out in your own living room.
