The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower manufacture a sound that is as original as their name as this foursome dishes out some bizarrely noisy strains that are not metal, not punk and really, quite indescribable. Crossbreeding of Refused and Fantomas results in a twisted mixture of quirky noise that is only for those who enjoy adventurous musical meanderings. The guitars here cut like a rusty razor blade, riding overtop of a bellowing bass sound that owes a lot to Les Claypool. 'Vulture Kontrol' is an angry blast of post punk harshness that is emphasized by a spastic, violent breakdown. B.H. Peligro turns in some confusingly insane percussion here as incessant tom rolls and furious strikes power songs such as the 'Rattus Uber Alles.' The noisy jazz of 'Drake The Fake' is assuredly something different, as Peligro keps up a rapid beat while vocalist Brandon Werchez spits hilarious lines like 'I've got to jump up to spit in his face.' On 'Angry, Young And Rich' you'll find the group lapsing into dissonant noise, elbows on the piano and all. Bassist Willy Graves lays down a brutish line during 'Lawnmower Love' that feeds the treble screams of Sir Charles Rowell's out of control axe quite nicely. Above all, you can't accuse The Plot of following trends or attempting to mimic anyone else's style. The originality of this group alone makes 'Love In The Fascist Brothel' worth the money. If a hissing chaotic frenzy is your idea of good entertainment, you've finally found your match.
